The Stone House Shoppe

Stone House Shoppe

The Stone House Shoppe is one of the most historic attractions in Whites Creek, Tennessee; and it sits right in the Fontanel complex. It serves as the estate’s official gift shop, where guests can buy and an assortment of goods and seasonal products made by local artists.

Browse through a variety of products – from handmade soaps, artwork, clothing, jewelry, gourmet products from local artisans and farms, and unique Southern items that you’ll only find at the estate. Or just look around and appreciate the rustic décor and historic charm of the stone house.

The Stone House, built in 1900 by the Thompson family, was originally part of a dairy farm. The Mandrells were always keen on preserving the original structure of the stone house. They lived in the well-preserved abode while the Mansion at Fontanel was being built, after which, it served as a guest house. For a brief time, it was home to Bob Hope, to Big Kenny of the iconic country duo Big & Rich, and his wife Christiev. The couple lived in the house in the early 2000’s and renovated it. It was Kenny and his wife who gave the home a more open floor plan and refurbished the two bedrooms upstairs. Kenny refinished the beautiful hardwood floors himself.

When Marc and Dale purchased the property and renovated the stone house, they wanted Barbara Mandrell’s legacy to remain there. They transformed the stone house from a guest house into a key attraction of the estate. Today, it offers a place for local farmers and artisans to share their handmade creations.

Guests at Fontanel can expect to feel the historic atmosphere of the Stone House Shoppe as they shop exclusive Whites Creek products and Barbara Mandrell merchandise. It also houses the Fontanel Box Office, where you can find information regarding musical events at the Woods at Fontanel and buy tickets and make reservations. What are you waiting for?
